I can't decide whether this year's Marketing Festival was better than last year's or the year before. What I do know for sure is that he was great. Fortunately, the GTM workshop, which was led by the knowledgeable and slightly absent-minded (and so nice to me) Brit Phil Pearce , was en retard even more than I was - by a full 45 minutes. The relaxed and informal atmosphere of the Marketing Festival is even more evident in the workshops than in the standard lectures. Phil uncompromisingly put us in pairs, just like in elementary school, so that we could help each other while setting up the GTM. The cheerful red-haired Brit worked his way through both small and larger agencies as well as in-house work in a large corporation as a PPC consultant, before finally settling in a smaller agency in Denmark. Although we didn't set that much "GTM-stuff", listening to his experiences was priceless! However, the workshop was also absolutely excellent - Phil takes GTM very seriously: he demonstrated how it can be used to improve the implicit flaws present in measuring websites with Google Analytics very easily.
